Does my auto insurance policy cover me if I rent a truck? While your auto insurance policy may extend to cover a rented car, it will not cover a rented truck or moving van.  You should purchase the physical damage and liability protection offered by the rental company. Back to Top

Will my auto policy extend to cover my daugher, who's listed on my policy, if she rents a car. Coverage extended to rented vehicles are for the Named Insureds listed on your declarations page.  Your policy covers your daughter as a listed operator, but not as a named insured. There would not be coverage for your daughter under your auto policy if she rented a vehicle.  She should purchase the insurance offered by the rental company. Back to Top
