EMPLOYEE LAWSUITS ARE ON THE RISE, ARE YOU PROTECTED?

  • Wrongful Termination

  • Discrimination

  • Sexual Harassment

These are charges that can be brought against you as an employer. Even if you're innocent, and are a good and fair employer, you can't control what others do. A disgruntled employee or even an employee candidate can file charges against you, forcing you to hire an attorney to defend your case. This can cost you thousands of dollars depending on the case. Are you protected?

Employer practices claims are not covered under your Commercial General Liability (CGL) or Business Owner's Policy (BOP) unless you have Employer's Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI).  In many cases it can be added to your CGL or BOP for an additional premium and is based on the number of employees you have.  Some policies such as The Hartford-Spectrum automatically provides $10,000 coverage at no charge.

In today's economic and litigious climate, this protection is essential if you have employees. Many EPLI products even include FREE human services resources, and in some cases FREE HR legal service. Please call us for more information.
